Both varieties thrive in tropical conditions but have specific needs:
- Light: Requires bright, indirect sunlight. Direct rays can easily scorch the leaves.
- Watering: Keep the roots moist but never soggy. Xiphidium prefers being watered when the top inch of soil is dry, while Peristeria needs consistent moisture but excellent drainage to prevent rot.
