Plinia aureana (jaboticaba aureana) also known as white jaboticaba or honey jaboticaba, is a fruit-bearing tree from Brazil cherished for its sweet, honey-flavored fruit. While the fruit of other jaboticaba varieties typically turns dark purple or black when ripe, P. aureana produces fruit that is a distinctive light green or white color.

• Fruiting time: This variety typically takes longer to reach maturity than some other jaboticabas, often fruiting after 5 or more years. However, select cultivars like ‘Branca Mel’ can fruit as early as 3.5 to 4 years and produce fruit multiple times a year.
