Araza Boi Fruit Plant

Araza Boi – Eugenia stipitata also known as araca, araca boi, Arazá. It is a fruit tree native to the Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador.

The fruit is very acidic when eaten directly from the tree. It can be processed into juices, nectars, marmalades, ice-creams, and other foods with a refreshing taste

Araza Boi is rich in vitamin C, Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, nitrogen, potassium, proteins, fibre, other carbohydrates, a small amount of calcium, zinc and also some phosphorus and magnesium. For 100g of fruit, there is approximately 775 mg of vitamin A, 9.84 mg of vitamin B1, 768 mg of vitamin C (which is double that of an orange).

Due to high acidic content, the fruit cannot be eaten directly but when mixed with sugar can be eaten. It can also be made into juices, smoothies and jams. It has a rich rich fruity aroma and it taste’s like a mixture of pineapple and passion fruit – Due to it can be used to make juice, squash
