White Jamun/ White Java Plum Fruit Plant

White Jamun (Syzygium cumini), commonly known as Malabar plum, Java plum, jamun or jambolan, is an evergreen tropical tree in the flowering plant family Myrtaceae, and favored for its fruit, timber, and ornamental value.It is native to the Indian Subcontinent, adjoining regions of Southeast Asia, including Myanmar, Sri Lanka, and the Andaman Islands.

A variant of the tree produces white colored fruit, commonly known as white jamun. Grafted or Buded white jamun fruited after 1 year. Raw fruits are used for for making wine and vinegar. The juice of ripe fruit is used for preparing jams, jelly, sauces and other beverages.
